This hike starts at the first parking lot on the forest road up to Børvatnet Lake in Bodø. From here you walk a bit up the road and turn right on a path where the sign says Storvarden. Follow the mountain side up until it starts to flatten out and you can cross over to the other side of the canyon. Eventually you will lose the path as the rest of the hike goes on rocky landscape, but you won’t need it anyways as there is no right or wrong way to go here. Just head towards the highest point on the right side after crossing the canyon, and you will come to the cliffs. Here you will get a beautiful view towards the lake Børvatnet and the mountain range of Børvasstindene. From this location you get a good view of the endpoint wich is Børnupen, the mountain sticking a bit out further in. Walk whereever the terrain suits you best until you reach the tip of Børnupen. The landscape up here is gorgeous and perfect for hiking, with several small mountain lakes along the way too. The distance from the parking lot to Børnupen ended up at 5.71 kilometres wich took 2.5 hours with calm hiking speed. Warning: The mountain side can be slippery if it have rained recently, and don’t get to close to the cliffs as you will die if you fall down from here
