Hiking to Finnesfjellet mountain in Gildeskål

This hike starts at the parking lot at Finnes in Gildeskål municipality. From here you hike around 1.80 km until you reach the top of Finnesfjellet mountain, 506 meters above sea level. The hike takes around 1 hour with calm hiking speed and a few breaks along the way to catch the breath. From the top of Finnesfjellet, you get an amazing view in all directions, with a long mountain ridge with a steep fall far down, so beware of your steps here. If you want to make this hike longer, you can continue along the ridge to the next mountain, which is Årfjellet, and have a height of 529 meters. The hiking trail to Finnesfjellet mountain starts just across the parking lot, it is well marked all the way until you start to get near the top. Once the trail disappears, just follow the ridge until you reach the cairn on the top of the mountain. Halfways on the way to the top, you pass a mountain formation called Finnesjura, which is a sight by itself. Prepare to take pictures
